Nominations: 50 Years Of African Innovation

We’d love to know your nominees of persons or organizations that have achieved remarkable impact in the US in the last 50 years. Nominations end 01/31!

In collaboration with the Made in Africa Experience, we are looking to document 50 years of innovations and achievements by Africans and African Immigrants in the US from 1970 – 2020!

A select panel of judges will pick the final list and each name alongside their achievement and year will be showcased through out the I/O SPACES Building and which will be open for public viewing starting spring 2020! Nominations end 01/31!

  • When do nominations end?
    January 31st 2020.
  • Who can be nominated?
    Any Person or Organisation (African Diaspora, African Immigrant, 1st and 2nd Generation African) who have achieved remarkable impact in the US in the last 50 years.
  • How are the winning innovations picked?
    A team of a panel of judges, I/O SPACES and MADE IN AFRICA EXPERIENCE will examine the nominations you make. Combined with independent industry insight, they will pick which nominees make the winning list
  • Can I nominate myself?
    Yes, nominate here!
  • What happens after the nominations close?
    We’ll get to work choosing the winning innovations, which we’ll debut in a permanent display exhibit on April 4th event at the I/O SPACES Building which will showcase each winning name, year and description of the innovation/accomplishment.
